Report: Free agent Maclin won't play this year due to surgery

Aaron Doster / USA TODAY Sports

Free-agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is undergoing surgery on a hamstring/glute injury and will be sidelined for the rest of the season, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Maclin reportedly expects to be ready for the 2019 season, though he could struggle to attract interest at the age of 31.

A one-time Pro Bowler, Maclin posted 440 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Baltimore Ravens. He spent the previous two campaigns with the Kansas City Chiefs and the five before that with the Philadelphia Eagles.
