Report: Jaguars getting 'serious' trade calls about Dante Fowler Jr.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have received trade calls about defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. and teams have "serious interest" in completing a deal before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
The Jaguars would want multiple draft picks in exchange for the No. 3 overall pick from the 2015 NFL Draft, according to Pelissero.
Yannick Ngakoue is likely the Jaguars' first contract extension priority on the stacked defensive line, and with young talents like 2018 first-rounder Taven Bryan waiting in the wings, it appears Fowler could be expendable in Jacksonville.
After missing his entire rookie season due to injury, Fowler had four sacks in 2016 and eight last season. However, his upward trend in production has stalled this year, with the edge rusher only producing two sacks in seven appearances.
