Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook appears set to return to the field Sunday, but he won't be rushed into regular playing time.
The Vikings plan to play Cook versus the Detroit Lions on a limited snap count, sources told Ben Goessling of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The second-year rusher has battled a hamstring injury for most of the season and suffered a setback last month. He's been limited to three appearances this year.
Cook was expected to remain sidelined through Minnesota's bye week, but said he felt great and was seen on the practice field Friday. He added that he won't have a complete idea of how his hamstring will respond until he sees game action.
