Dolphins' Gase: Pro Bowl safety Jones seemed to pull himself vs. Jets
Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones took himself out of the team's 13-6 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, head coach Adam Gase indicated after the game.
"I've got to look at that and find out what everything entails," Gase told ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. "It sounds like he pulled himself out. So I've just got to find out kind of what happened there."
Jones, a starter since 2011, began the contest on the field but stood on the sideline for every snap after the first quarter. The team said his absence wasn't related to an injury.
Gase, who's feuded with multiple Dolphins players over the last couple of seasons, said he'll receive more information on the situation in the coming hours.
First-round rookie Minkah Fitzpatrick saw an increase in snaps in place of Jones, a Pro Bowler in 2015 and 2017.
