Bills' Anderson ruled out vs. Jets; Allen 'progressing well'
The Buffalo Bills ruled out quarterback Derek Anderson for Sunday's game against the New York Jets due to a concussion, head coach Sean McDermott said Friday, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.
McDermott added that the Bills are "still working through" the decision on their starting quarterback for Sunday, and that rookie Josh Allen is "progressing well" in his recovery from a wrist injury. With regards to Allen's status, McDermott said it will come down to a "medical decision," according to Joe Buscaglia of WKBW, who added that Allen's thrown in the last four practices while dominating the number of individual reps on Wednesday and Thursday.
If Allen can't suit up, the Bills could start Nathan Peterman or Matt Barkley. Peterman's struggled badly when he's played this season, completing 54.3 percent of his passes for one touchdown and seven interceptions.
