An MRI confirmed that New Orleans Saints wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a torn Achilles during practice Friday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Bryant is expected to take eight months to recover.
The veteran wide receiver was released by the Dallas Cowboys in April after spending his first eight seasons with the franchise. Bryant elected to mull over his offers before signing with the Saints.
Bryant was expected to amplify an already potent offense, carving out a role alongside standout Michael Thomas and rookie Tre'Quan Smith in the passing game.
