The Detroit Lions have placed receiver Marvin Jones on injured reserve with a knee injury, the team announced Monday.
Jones injured his knee in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears. He was initially diagnosed with a reported bone bruise but sought a second opinion after missing a week of practice.
The 28-year-old has 35 receptions for 508 yards and five touchdowns through nine starts this season.
The Lions' receiving corps is now looking thin after the team sent Golden Tate to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick before the trade deadline.
Receivers TJ Jones and newly-acquired Bruce Ellington have seen increased playing time in the absence of Jones and Tate.
