The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing in veteran running back C.J. Anderson for a physical with the intention to sign him, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Anderson was cut by the Carolina Panthers earlier in the campaign after seldom seeing the field behind Christian McCaffrey. The 27-year-old rushed for over 1,000 yards last year with the Denver Broncos.

Kansas City received just 47 rushing yards from Spencer Ware in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders. It was Ware's first start after the Chiefs waived Pro Bowler Kareem Hunt over an off-field incident.

The Chiefs also plan to host fellow running back Charcandrick West on a free-agent visit, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
