The Denver Broncos don't intend to place star cornerback Chris Harris on injured reserve as they believe he could recover from his fractured fibula in time for the playoffs, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Harris' injury, which he suffered in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals, was described to Rapoport as more of a hairline fracture than a significant break.

The 6-6 Broncos have won three straight games to leap back into the playoff race. They have a favorable schedule down the stretch.

Harris, 29, has registered 10 pass breakups and three interceptions in 12 contests this season.
