Chiefs sign RB Charcandrick West
The Kansas City Chiefs signed running back Charcandrick West on Monday to fill the roster spot created by Friday's release of Kareem Hunt.
Veteran free agent C.J. Anderson had a good workout with the Chiefs and will be available if needed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
West, 27, played for the Chiefs from 2014-17, rushing for 999 yards and seven touchdowns over 49 games. He added 75 receptions for 552 yards and another five scores.
The Chiefs originally signed West as an undrafted free agent out of Abilene Christian. He had a brief stint with the New York Jets this preseason and reportedly worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in October.
Anderson has been on the market since he was released by the Carolina Panthers following Week 10. He totaled 104 rushing yards and scored just one receiving touchdown over nine games after signing as a free agent in the offseason.
