Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt has withdrawn his name from consideration for Georgia Tech's head coaching job and will remain with the Chargers, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It was previously reported that Whisenhunt would interview for the Georgia Tech job and that the school was looking for someone with NFL experience.
Whisenhunt has served as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals (2007-12) and Tennessee Titans (2014-15) and has worked as a tight ends coach and offensive coordinator for numerous teams.
Prior to his coaching career, Whisenhunt played four years at tight end for Georgia Tech and spent eight years in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins, and New York Jets.
