Giants' Beckham undergoing further evaluation on bruised quad
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s bruised quadriceps are being "further evaluated," and he won't practice Thursday, head coach Pat Shurmur told Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Beckham surprisingly missed the Giants' 40-16 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 14. Shurmur wasn't particularly forthcoming when asked if Thursday's treatments mean the three-time Pro Bowler had a setback.
"He's just getting it checked out. It doesn't mean anything," he said.
Tight end Evan Engram led Giants' pass-catchers with three receptions for 77 yards in the lopsided victory last week. Corey Coleman was the top wideout with two catches for 43 yards.
Running back Saquon Barkley was the star of the offense in Beckham's absence, racking up 197 yards from scrimmage with a rushing score.
