Jets' Crowell placed on IR
The New York Jets have placed running back Isaiah Crowell on injured reserve, the team announced Friday.
Crowell exited Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a toe injury.
The 25-year-old led the team with 685 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 143 carries. He also set the franchise record for most rushing yards in a game in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos with 219 yards.
Elijah McGuire will likely be first in line to take over the Jets' backfield. In Sunday's 27-23 win over the Bills, McGuire rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
Trenton Cannon, who's questionable for Saturday's game against the Houston Texans with a toe injury, may also see an increased role if he's able to suit up.
In a corresponding move, running back De'Angelo Henderson was promoted to the Jets' active roster.
