Report: Chargers' Allen diagnosed with hip pointer
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen suffered a hip pointer in Thursday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Allen could miss some time, but there is no structural damage and the injury shouldn't sideline him for long, according to Rapoport.
The wideout was injured on an outstanding near-touchdown grab against the Chiefs. He returned, but only for one snap before the hip ailment forced him to leave the game for good.
Through 14 contests this season, the 26-year-old Allen leads the Chargers in catches (88) and receiving yards (1,074), and is second in touchdown receptions (six).
Los Angeles, which moved into a tie for first place in the AFC West by defeating Kansas City in a thriller at Arrowhead Stadium, next plays Dec. 22 versus the Baltimore Ravens.
