Ravens announce Harbaugh will return in 2019, extension in works
The Baltimore Ravens will retain head coach John Harbaugh for the 2019 season and are working on a contract extension, the team announced in a statement Friday.
Harbaugh has posted a cumulative 102-70 record since taking over as head coach in 2008, winning a Super Bowl in 2012.
Baltimore currently occupies the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC, with the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans sporting identical records in the seventh and eighth spots, respectively.
With speculation swirling about where Harbaugh would end up in 2019, the Ravens have made it clear he's their leader, regardless of how the end of the season plays out.
Baltimore squares off against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday in a game that would feature the AFC's two wild-card teams if the playoffs were to begin today.
