The 3 best prop bets for Chiefs-Seahawks
The prop market is one that bettors can capitalize on by finding edges on specific, individual matchups. Here are the three best prop bets for the Sunday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks.
Travis Kelce Under 6.5 receptions (+100)
For a matchup with the highest total of any game on Sunday's slate, it might be playing with fire to start ripping off under-related prop bets, especially when it features the league's top tight end. Kelce has brought down at least seven passes in the last four games, combining for a total of 36 over that span. He'll be a go-to target for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but we don't like the matchup against the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, as Seattle has yet to allow a tight end to catch more than six passes in a single game this season.
Chris Carson Over 73.5 rushing yards (-114)
In league where passing has become the norm, Seattle is playing old-school football to find their offensive success. With rush attempts on 52.17 percent of their offensive plays, the Seahawks are the only team in the NFL that run the ball more than they pass. Having struggled to find stability at running back over the years, Seattle finally has their guy in Chris Carson. He's carried the ball at least 16 times in more than half his starts this season, including 22 in back-to-back weeks leading up to Sunday. Seattle would be wise not to engage in a shootout with the Chiefs, so we'll likely see a heavy dose of Carson, who faces the NFL's worst defense in terms of rushing yards allowed per attempt (5.0) this season.
Patrick Mahomes Over 305.5 passing yards (-114)
Amid a season where he's torn it up on a weekly basis, Mahomes' stat line in last week's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers was a bit underwhelming. The second-year pivot posted a season-low 243 passing yards and finished with 7.15 yards per attempt, his second lowest clip of the season. But it's proven to be tough to keep Mahomes down for too long, as he's averaging close to 400 yards passing the week after he falls to eclipse 300. Mahomes has been the best quarterback on the road by a mile, ranking first in passing touchdowns (28), explosive pass rate percentage (17%), passer rating (124.2), and yards per attempt (9.5).
