Christian McCaffrey set the NFL's single-season record for catches by a running back with his 103rd reception of the year against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.

Earlier in the game, the Carolina Panthers sophomore joined LaDainian Tomlinson and Matt Forte as the only running backs to record 1,000 rushing yards and 100 receptions in the same season.

He reached that milestone with a first half performance that included 15 carries for 52 yards and seven receptions for 43 yards.

McCaffrey tied Steve Smith's franchise record for receptions in a season; he passed DeAngelo Williams' record for career receptions by a running back (178); and he surpassed his father's (Ed) career singe-season high of 101 receptions.

The 22-year-old was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and entered Week 16 with 13 total touchdowns on the year.
