Jets HC Bowles rips officiating after OT loss to Packers
New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles blasted the officiating after Sunday's 44-38 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers.
"I thought we were playing two teams," he said postgame to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "I thought we were playing the Packers and the striped shirts."
Bowles was particularly upset by a pass interference call on cornerback Trumaine Johnson, which led to the touchdown in overtime.
"I felt it was a bad call, as I did quite a few other calls," Bowles said. "It was one of those games. I haven't seen one in my 18, 19 years in the league."
Bowles is widely expected to be dismissed at the end of the season, although it's been reported that if he is fired, he will be a candidate for other head coaching vacancies.
With the Jets slumping to a 4-11 record - their third consecutive season with 11 losses, Bowles' frustration reached its boiling point.
"I'm sure I'm getting fined already, so I care not to say more, but something has to be done about that. That's ridiculous."
