"Spongebob Squarepants" fans are determined to have "Sweet Victory" performed at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show.
The online petition asking the NFL to pay tribute to late "Spongebob" creator Stephen Hillenburg during the show has received over 1 million signatures, with a goal of reaching 1.5 million.
While the NFL has yet to respond to the petition, Mercedes-Benz Stadium - host of Super Bowl LIII - got fans excited earlier this month when it tweeted a GIF from the episode "Sweet Victory" is featured in. A group of musicians also recorded a live version of the song and have offered to perform it at the Super Bowl.
As of now, Maroon 5 and Travis Scott are expected to perform at the halftime show.
