Denver Broncos general manager John Elway would like to bring John Harbaugh to the Mile High City even though the Baltimore Ravens have already committed to bringing back the veteran head coach in 2019, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

On Monday, after firing second-year coach Vance Joseph, Elway said that he has three-to-four candidates in mind for the job.

Assuming the Ravens don't let Harbaugh out of his contract, the only way for the Broncos to acquire him would be via trade. Harbaugh owns a 104-72 record with Baltimore in 11 seasons and won Super Bowl XLVII.

Florio also states that Elway could turn to Mike Shanahan if he's unable to land Harbaugh, but the general manager later said that his former coach isn't a candidate at this time. Elway was supposedly close to bringing his former coach back to Denver last year in a package deal that would've seen the Broncos also sign quarterback Kirk Cousins.

The Broncos went 11-21 in two seasons under Joseph.
