Duke's Daniel Jones declares for 2019 NFL Draft
Duke quarterback Daniel Jones declared for the 2019 NFL Draft on Monday, forgoing his final season of collegiate eligibility, the school announced.
Jones could work his way into the first round of the draft as one of the top pivots in the class given the lack of depth at the position this year.
"Daniel has been a cornerstone of our program and leaves with our full support," said head coach David Cutcliffe. "It has been a privilege to coach him, but the best part about Daniel is he's an even better young man than he is a football player. The bottom line is he's a special person and we'll miss him greatly."
Jones threw for 2,674 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 11 games as a junior. The 6-foot-5 signal-caller completed nearly 63 percent of his passes.
