Report: Broncos choosing between Fangio, Munchak for HC job
The Denver Broncos have narrowed their coaching search to Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak, sources told ESPN.
The Broncos are expected to make their choice sometime before Wednesday evening.
Denver completed its interview with Fangio on Monday, a day after the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs. Munchak's interview was conducted on Friday.
Munchak spent from 1994 to 2013 as a coach with the Houston Oilers/Tennesse Titans franchise. He was the Titans' head coach from 2011 to 2013. He's spent the last four seasons as a position coach with the Steelers.
Fangio, 60, has been an NFL coach since 1986. He has 20 years of experience as a defensive coordinator. He's led the Bears' defense since 2015.
The Broncos are looking for their fifth head coach in the last 10 seasons.
