Less than 24 hours after the Kansas City Chiefs fired defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, Steve Spagnuolo has emerged as the favorite to replace him, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Spagnuolo has spent six years as a defensive coordinator, most recently with the New York Giants, and four years as a head coach.
The 59-year-old worked with Chiefs bench boss Andy Reid from 1999-2006 in Philadelphia, serving as a defensive assistant, defensive backs coach, and linebackers coach during his tenure with the Eagles.
Spagnuolo last coached in 2017.
