Advertising during the Super Bowl doesn't come cheap.

Host network CBS is charging between $5.1 million and $5.3 million to air a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl LIII, according to Jason Lynch of Adweek. It's a far cry from what advertisers paid for the first Super Bowl in 1967, as this analysis by PromoCodesForYou.com shows:

The analysis also examined the most popular Super Bowl ads of all time, based on USA Today's "Ad Meter" ratings. The list includes McDonald's "The Showdown" starring Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, Doritos' "Man's Best Friend," and Betty White's Snickers ad.
