Colts' Leonard wins Defensive Rookie of the Year award

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard beat out Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award Saturday.
Leonard, a second-round pick of the Colts out of South Carolina State, was a tackling machine in his first campaign. The 23-year-old tallied 163 tackles along with seven sacks, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions.

Leonard and James were both named first-team All-Pros at the end of the season, signalling that the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting would be hotly contested.
