The Chicago Bears will release kicker Cody Parkey at the start of the league year, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Parkey, who spent just one year with the team, missed a 43-yard field goal in the NFC wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles after it was tipped at the line of scrimmage and then hit both the upright and the crossbar, ending Chicago's season.
The 27-year-old struggled throughout the 2018 campaign, hitting 23 of his 30 field-goal attempts and failing to convert on three extra points.
Parkey signed a four-year contract with Chicago last year and is still due $3.5 million in guarantees on his 2019 contract, according to Rapoport.
