The Kansas City Chiefs are placing the franchise tag on pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Chiefs plan to start Ford, but with their defense switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3, they will also entertain trade offers for the 27-year-old, Schefter added.
Ford totaled 55 tackles, 13 sacks, and had a league-leading seven forced fumbles during the 2018 campaign.
Under the franchise tag, the former first-round pick is set to earn $15.4 million in 2019.
