Report: Buccaneers ship DeSean Jackson back to Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have a trade in place with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to reacquire wide receiver DeSean Jackson, sources told Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Tampa will send a seventh-round pick along with Jackson to Philadelphia in return for a sixth-round pick, Rapoport said. Jackson also receives $13 million in guaranteed money as part of a restructured contract with the Eagles, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Jackson spent the first six seasons of his career in Philly before the Chip Kelly regime released him in 2014 on the heels of a Pro Bowl campaign.

Now 32, Jackson reportedly clamored for a return to the City of Brotherly Love. He first requested an exit from Tampa at the trade deadline.

Jackson posted a farewell message to Buccaneers fans earlier Monday as rumors over his future picked up.

The 12-year NFL veteran spent two years in Tampa, but never posted the lofty numbers the organization expected when it signed him to a lucrative three-year contract in 2017. He frequently found himself open down the field but struggled to find chemistry with quarterback Jameis Winston.

Adding Jackson to Philadelphia's receiving corps gives the Eagles the deep threat they had been searching for. Philadelphia inquired about the availability of Miami Dolphins speedster Kenny Stills, among other field-stretching receivers, before making the deal with the Buccaneers, sources told Jeff McLane of Philly.com.

Jackson made three Pro Bowls with the Eagles between 2008-13. He also played for the Washington Redskins from 2014-16.
