Free-agent running back Latavius Murray intends to sign a four-year, $14.4-million contract with the New Orleans Saints, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal likely means long-time Saints back Mark Ingram won't return to the team in 2019, Schefter adds.

Murray spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, accumulating 1,420 yards and 14 touchdowns over that span.

Ingram formed a dynamic duo with Alvin Kamara in the Saints' backfield, averaging 4.7 yards per carry and adding six touchdowns in 2018. He also developed into an underrated receiving threat, catching 79 passes over the past two seasons.

After splitting New Orleans' running workload with Ingram, Kamara is now expected to receive the bulk of the touches ahead of Murray, who has proven to be an effective second rusher.
