Report: Jackson to receive 3-year, $27M deal from Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles will give DeSean Jackson a three-year, $27-million contract after officially acquiring him from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source told Adam Caplan of ESPN.
The deal tacks two years onto Jackson's current contract and is part of a restructure. The new contract will contain $15 million in guaranteed money.
Philadelphia agreed to send a sixth-round pick to Tampa in exchange for Jackson and a seventh-rounder. The trade can't be completed until Wednesday, the first day of the new league year.
Jackson spent the first six seasons of his career in the City of Brotherly Love, earning three Pro Bowl selections before former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly abruptly released him.
The 32-year-old struggled to find chemistry with Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston over the last two years, but he was still effective as a vertical threat. Jackson averaged 18.9 yards per reception in 2018.
