The Washington Redskins released linebacker Zach Brown on Wednesday.
Brown spent the last two seasons in Washington and led the team in tackles in 2017. He tallied 96 stops, two forced fumbles, and one sack last year.
The veteran defender is equally adept in run defense and pass coverage, but Washington was strapped for cash after reportedly signing safety Landon Collins to a six-year, $84-million deal.
Brown's release clears $5.75 million against the salary cap.
