Report: 49ers refused to surrender No. 2 pick for Beckham
The San Francisco 49ers were unwilling to include the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft in a potential trade for superstar receiver Odell Beckham Jr., an official from the New York Giants told Jay Glazer of The Athletic.
The Niners were rumored to be in the mix for Beckham before the Giants shipped him to the Cleveland Browns for safety Jabrill Peppers, the 17th overall selection, and a third-round pick.
It's unclear whether the Giants asked the 49ers to include other assets with the second pick in exchange for their top pass-catcher.
San Francisco made several attempts to acquire Beckham going back to last season, according to Glazer.
Beckham hauled in 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns over 59 career games with the Giants.
