The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with free-agent safety George Iloka on a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.
The Cowboys were rumored to be targeting other free-agent safeties this offseason, including Earl Thomas, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry also visited the team last week.
Iloka spent the 2018 season with the Minnesota Vikings after six years with the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn't see significant snaps behind Harrison Smith, Anthony Harris, and Andrew Sendejo, but was a key starter in Cincinnati.
Dallas could still add a safety in free agency or the draft, but Iloka will likely receive an opportunity to start next to Xavier Woods.
