Kitchens on Mayfield-Beckham duo: 'I hope we blow a bunch of stuff up'
Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens is optimistic that his newest offensive combination will provide fireworks this season.
When asked if recently acquired wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and sophomore quarterback Baker Mayfield will be dynamite on the field, Kitchens took the question and ran with it.
"I hope so," the coach said, according to ESPN's Tony Grossi. "And I hope we blow a bunch of stuff up."
The Browns made a number of changes this offseason, prioritizing the offensive side of the ball to support their franchise quarterback. Beckham was the biggest splash.
Kitchens believes the receiver is not only a fit in the offense, but also with the city of Cleveland.
"He's going to love Cleveland," Kitchens said, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. "(The fans are) passionate and he's passionate."
As for the first thing the head coach will say to Beckham, Kitchens simply replied, "I love you."
