Chiefs' Reid yet to speak with Tyreek Hill amid investigation
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters Tuesday that he's yet to speak with Tyreek Hill since learning that the receiver is under investigation for an alleged battery.
"I have not, no," Reid said at the NFL's annual owners' meeting, according to Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star. "Our counsel's told us not to do that. I have not been in contact with him."
An investigation into the alleged battery involving Hill's three-year-old son at his home is ongoing. Reid said there's been no update since the team released a statement acknowledging the investigation in mid-March.
The Chiefs bench boss said he's not yet preparing to be without the All-Pro for the upcoming season but suggested the team would make do if need be.
"The great thing about football is it's a team sport," Reid said. "Whether a player is there or not there, we keep rolling. That's how we do."
