Report: Cowboys extend Gregory despite indefinite suspension
The Dallas Cowboys extended defensive end Randy Gregory’s contract through 2020, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The move was made even though Gregory has been suspended indefinitely since February for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy and the terms of his conditional reinstatement. It's the fourth suspension of his NFL career.
According to Pelissero, $310,000 of Gregory's existing 2019 salary is being converted to a signing bonus and the additional year of his new deal is worth $735,000 with escalators.
Dallas reportedly remains hopeful the 26-year-old will be able to play in 2019 despite the suspension.
After appearing in just two games in 2016 and then sitting out the entire 2017 season due to suspensions, Gregory appeared in 14 games during 2018, recording 25 tackles and six sacks.
