NFL Draft Grades - NFC West

With the 2019 NFL Draft officially complete, theScore's NFL editors hand out their initial grades for how teams fared over the course of the three-day event.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals received the top grade of the draft. The team with the top pick of every round is expected to come away with a heavy haul and Arizona did exactly that. In one draft, the Cards added a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and receivers Isabella and Butler to join Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk in new coach Kliff Kingsbury's air-raid offense. Murphy should start right away opposite Patrick Peterson, and Thompson and Miles were great value picks on Day 3 of the draft. The Cards also managed to trade away Josh Rosen when it appeared there were no suitors for the sophomore quarterback.

Grade: A+

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams didn't have a pick on Day 1, but they left their mark on the draft, trading up and down multiple times and leaving with eight prospects. For a team challenging for a championship, Los Angeles didn't make a headline selection to put the squad over the top. Rapp doesn't fill an immediate need and the addition of Henderson in the third round calls into question the health of star runner Todd Gurley. Gaines has big shoes to fill, as he could play nose tackle in a 3-4 defense. Tackles Evans and Edwards will develop under the guidance of stalwarts Andrew Whitworth and Rob Havenstein.

Grade: B-

San Francisco 49ers

When Murray went No. 1 overall, the top defensive player - and perhaps the best prospect in the draft - fell into the Niners' lap. The tandem of Bosa and trade acquisition Dee Ford will instantly improve a unit that finished 22nd in 2018. San Fran then found Jimmy Garoppolo some much-needed targets with its next two picks. The 49ers lose out on a potential A for taking a punter in the fourth round of the draft.

Grade: B

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks were perhaps the most active team of the draft. GM John Schneider was working the phones hard, and turned what had been four picks in hand entering the draft into 11. He immediately addressed the team's top need following the trade of Frank Clark, but Collier is considered a reach at his draft slot. The Metcalf pick to end the second round also draws some concerns, as the physical freak is still an unrefined receiver and may not be ready to be a top receiving option with Doug Baldwin's career in jeopardy. Seattle loaded up on bodies, but few are expected to make an impact.
