An 11-minute audio recording of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, discussing their three-year-old son and the investigation into possible child abuse has been obtained by KCTV.

In the recording, Espinal asks Hill, "Why does (their son) say, 'Daddy did it?'" according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

Hill can also be heard saying to Espinal, "You need to be terrified of me, too, bitch."

Espinal says Hill punched their son in the chest and used a belt to discipline him, according to Brooke Pryor of the KC Star.

The recording is believed to be from March. It was made as an "insurance policy" for Espinal, who gave it to a friend. The friend then passed it on to KCTV out of concern for the child's welfare.

Johnson County District Attorney Stephen Howe announced Wednesday he will not file charges against Hill or Espinal after a criminal investigation. He said he believes child abuse occurred but lacked the evidence to prove who committed it.

Howe added that someone "hurt this child," who reportedly suffered a broken arm and was removed from the couple's home.

Hill denies during the audio that he broke their son's arm.

According to Pryor, KCTV said the DA's office now has the recording.
