Buccaneers' Pierre-Paul involved in single-car accident
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was involved in a single-car accident Thursday morning in South Florida, the team announced.
It's unknown if the pass-rusher sustained any injuries; he was admitted to hospital but has since been released.
Pierre-Paul wasn't cited for the incident, according to the Buccaneers.
"Our immediate concern is for the safety and well-being of Jason and his passenger," said general manager Jason Licht. "We have been in contact with Jason and will be getting him further evaluated by our medical staff in the near future."
Pierre-Paul lost a portion of his hand in a fireworks accident nearly four years ago while a member of the New York Giants.
The 30-year-old overcame the injury to resume his NFL career and has racked up 28 sacks over the last three seasons.
