The New York Jets have put in a request to interview New Orleans Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot for their general manager position, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
Fontenot has spent 16 seasons with the Saints and six in his current role.
The Jets, reportedly, previously requested GM interviews with Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas, Chicago Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly, Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton, and Seattle Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer.
The search began after New York fired general manager Mike Maccagnan on May 15 following four seasons with the team, and named head coach Adam Gase the interim GM.
