Three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney isn't expected to attend minicamp as he continues to sit with an unsigned contract for the 2019 season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday.
The Texans designated the edge rusher as their franchise player months ago, but the two sides haven't struck a long-term agreement. Since Clowney hasn't signed his franchise tender, the Texans won't be able to fine him for missing activities that are mandatory for players under contract.
Clowney hasn't participated in any part of the Texans' offseason program to date while waiting for the situation to be resolved.
The former No. 1 overall pick posted 47 tackles and nine sacks last season, helping Houston return to the playoffs following a one-year absence.
