Watch: Newton's 1st throws at minicamp livestreamed amid shoulder rehab
Carolina Panthers fans hoping to get a close look at Cam Newton's recovery got their wish on Tuesday.
The star quarterback took the next step in his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery when he participated in all QB drills as the Panthers opened mandatory minicamp, and the team livestreamed the workout for nearly 30 minutes.
Here are several highlights of Newton showcasing his new-look throwing motion. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Monday that the veteran passer was set to "unveil" a big change in his mechanics.
"From what I'm told this is going to be more of an unveiling than anything else. I've talked to several people who've watched Cam Newton throw and they are pretty giddy," Rapoport said. "One of them even telling me, 'You've got to see this. You can not wait to see this.'
"He's gotten in a much better place physically and he's going to make sure that he's able to throw the ball like only Cam Newton can for the next several years, not just this year. Seems like we're going to see something very different from Cam Newton this week."
While Newton didn't appear to throw at full speed, the change in his delivery was obvious to some:
Panthers offensive coordinator Norn Turner said Newton has been throwing in a limited capacity for a month, and that the plan is for the former MVP to fully participate in training camp.
