Former Carolina Panthers and XFL running back Rod Smart has been found safe after he was reported missing for nearly a week, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday, according to ESPN.
Smart had been reported as a "missing endangered person" by authorities in South Carolina just a few hours earlier.
The 42-year-old had last been spotted June 12 near Indian Land, S.C., and his family was concerned for his well-being, according to police.
Smart was known for sporting "He Hate Me" on his jersey during the XFL's lone season in 2001. He then spent four seasons with the Panthers.
