Nkemdiche arrested for speeding, driving with suspended license
Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche was arrested June 6 for speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to a police report obtained by ABC15's Clayton Klapper.
After being pulled over, police discovered Nkemdiche had a warrant issued for his arrest for his suspended license and failing to appear for a court hearing.
According to the police report, a white powdery substance was also found inside the 24-year-old's car. The substance was not tested, however, and instead was impounded for destruction.
"Based on the totality of the circumstances, it was decided not to pursue testing of the credit card holder in lieu of impounding the item for destruction with Robert's cooperation," the report stated.
The Cardinals announced they were aware of the incident and would comment further when appropriate.
A first-round pick (No. 29 overall) of the 2016 draft, Nkemdiche has yet to live up to expectations in Arizona. The Cardinals declined his fifth-year option in May.
Nkemdiche fell out of a hotel window and was arrested for marijuana possession prior to being drafted.
