The Miami Dolphins fired offensive line coach Pat Flaherty and replaced him with Dave DeGuglielmo, the team announced Monday.

Flaherty, who was hired in February, had struggled since the spring to implement the new system, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

DeGuglielmo had been serving the Dolphins as an analyst. He coached the Indianapolis Colts' offensive line last year, but was let go after the campaign despite a positive performance from his unit.

DeGuglielmo has ties to first-year head coach Brian Flores, as the two were assistants on Bill Belichick's staff with the New England Patriots from 2014-15.
