Gruden laments AB's injury woes: 'We'd like to get the party started'

Antonio Brown may have joined his Oakland Raiders teammates for practice Tuesday, but head coach Jon Gruden hopes to see his star wideout more involved in the team's camp after sitting out Thursday and Friday.

"I think we're all disappointed," Gruden said Friday, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. "We think he's disappointed. We'd like to get the party started. We'd like to get him out here. He's a big part of the team.

"But for the time being we're going to continue to work hard and we're seeing the development of some other receivers we're excited about."

Brown began camp on the non-football injury list with a reportedly minor undisclosed injury. He participated in a walk-through Sunday and was limited in Tuesday's practice before the team had Wednesday off, notes Gutierrez.

Following the Tuesday session, the 31-year-old posted a picture of his feet covered in blisters in an Instagram post that has since been removed.

"I want the guy out here as soon as possible," Gruden said. "I'd like him to never leave and stay in the huddle every play. But life goes on and you've got to continue to work and the other guys got to take advantage of these opportunities, and so far, they have."
