Report: Raiders expect Brown to rejoin team in near future
Antonio Brown's absence from the Oakland Raiders stems from not only a foot ailment, but also the receiver's reluctance to give up his preferred helmet model.
However, the Raiders expect the unhappy receiver to rejoin the team in the near future, a team official told Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Brown has reportedly threatened to retire over the helmet spat. He had a two-hour hearing with an independent arbitrator on Friday in which he argued for wearing the 10-year-old helmet, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Brown has been seen sparingly at Raiders training camp, and appeared to be wearing the outdated helmet when he attended practice on July 30, according to Gehlken.
The Raiders return to practice Monday and Tuesday after playing the Los Angeles Rams in preseason action on Saturday.
