Report: Prescott rejected offer of $30M per year, wants $40M annually

Quarterback Dak Prescott reportedly turned down an offer of $30 million per year from the Dallas Cowboys, a source told NFL Network's Jane Slater.

Prescott is apparently seeking an extension that will pay him $40 million per year, although a deal is more likely to get done in the $34 million-$35 million range, Slater reports.

Russell Wilson currently has the highest average annual salary in the league at $35 million.

It was reported last week that the Cowboys extended offers to Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Amari Cooper that would have put each player in the top five at their respective positions.

Prescott, a fourth-round pick, threw for 3,885 yards last season with 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He's started all 48 games for the Cowboys in the past three years.
