The NFLPA issued a "work stoppage guide" to its players in preparation for a possible strike or lockout after the 2020 season.
These guidelines offer numerous tips for how players should save their money, including but not limited to:
- Saving at least half of each paycheck
- Cooking at home instead of eating out
- Renting instead of buying a new home for the time being
- Selling a car that hasn't been driven in six months
- Selling clothes that have seldom been worn
ESPN's Dan Graziano says his sources from both sides of the bargaining table believe a work stoppage is unlikely, but the NFLPA is still preparing its players for the worst-case scenario.
Negotiation sessions have been tentatively scheduled for next week, though little progress has been made thus far in the meetings between players and owners, Graziano adds.
