Report: Cooper likely to sit out rest of Cowboys' preseason
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper will likely miss Saturday's preseason game against the Houston Texans due to a foot injury, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.
The Cowboys rest their starters for the fourth and final exhibition contest.
Cooper hasn't practiced since Aug. 6, but he's hopeful he can return by the end of the week. The veteran wideout confirmed he's dealing with "a form of plantar fasciitis."
Asked if he could be effective playing with the injury, Cooper was confident he could and cited his history of pushing through foot ailments.
"Real effective. I mean I played with a lot of foot injuries. High ankle sprains. All those things, so I'm pretty good at playing with foot injuries. But I don't think I'm going to have to play with it."
The 25-year-old excelled in Dallas' offense after being acquired from the Oakland Raiders last October. In nine games with the Cowboys, Cooper caught 53 passes for 725 yards and six touchdowns.
